Physical Therapy /Physiotherapy (PT) is a healthcare profession primarily concerned with the remediation of impairments and disabilities and the promotion of mobility, functional ability, quality of life and movement potential. These are done through examination, evaluation, diagnosis and physical therapy interventions. Physical therapy helps the patient restore the use of muscles, bones, and the nervous system using various physical modalities and other techniques. It seeks to relieve pain, improve strength and mobility, and train the patient to perform important everyday tasks. Physical therapy is prescribed to rehabilitate a patient after orthopaedic injuries, arthritis, cardiac disease, cervical and lumbar dysfunction, neurological problems, pulmonary disease, spinal cord injuries, stroke, traumatic brain injuries, burns, cancer, amputations and other injuries/illnesses. In addition to clinical practice, other activities encompassed in the physical therapy profession include research, education, consultation, and administration
