Contact SupplierEpoxy phenol novolac (EPN) resins contain more than two epoxy groups per molecule and are therefore described as multifunctional epoxy resins. In other words these are polyepoxides obtained by reacting a phenolic novolac resin with epichlorohydrin. When cured, these provide a high cross-link density due to the increased epoxy functionality.
EPN resins are highly recommended in formulations for high-performance applications requiring excellent chemical resistance, solvent resistance and exceptional high temperature resistance than the standard bisphenol A epoxy resins. These EPN resins can also be used in blends to upgrade the performance offered by bisphenol A and F epoxy resins.
The Epotec range offers low viscosity and high functionality and are premier products for high corrosion-resistant coatings and linings. These also find use in high temperature-resistant adhesives, corrosion resistant marine coatings, maintenance coatings, industrial coatings, tank linings, pipe coatings, primers in automotive, coil and appliances and manufacturing of epoxy vinyl esters.
Customised solvent-cut versions of EPN resins with xylene, MIBK, MEK, etc can also be formulated upon request.
