Contact SupplierNEOPRENE (Chloroprene)
Neoprene is a family of synthetic rubber which is manufactured by the polymerization of Chloroprene. Neoprene displays good chemical stability and maintains its flexibility over a wide range of temperature. Neoprene has found use across a variety of applications like laptop sleeves, electrical insulation, orthopedic braces (knee, wrist etc.), car fan belts, liquid and sheet applied elastomeric membranes & flashings etc.
Foamed neoprene containing gas cells is widely used as in insulation material in various items like wetsuits. It is also used in packing applications for shock protection and insulation purposes.
Neoprene is chemically inert which makes it preferred choice for industrial applications like hoses, gaskets and corrosion resistant coatings. It is also used as a base for adhesives, for isolation of noise in power transformer installations and as a padding in external metal cases to protect the inner contents of the consignment. It allows for snug fit of the consignment and resists burning far better than the rubbers made exclusively with hydrocarbons. Neoprene is also commonly used to make combat attires like face masks, gloves etc. It is also used for weather stripping in fire doors and to provide contrast in jewelry designs.
Neoprene rubber sheets come with BS:2752 markings and show good resistance to petroleum products like Nitrile rubber sheets. Neoprene sheets remain resistant to temperature for a considerably wide range of -400 F to +3000 F. Neoprene sheet are used to store alkalis, acids and also food as these are non toxic in nature.
