Musa is widely acknowledged as one of three genera in the family Musaceae. The Musa varieties include bananas and plantains and there are over 50 species of Musa that have a broad variety of uses. Growing as high as trees, Musa plants are not woody and their apparent stem is just the bases of the huge leaf stalks. These gigantic herbs are originated from Southeast Asia and New Guinea.
