The batteries are placed just before the Cold Box to shun any moisture from entering into it. The battery works to avoid the moisture & CO2 from the air passing through it. If it does not work properly, the moisture & CO2 will enter into Air Separation Column and ice & dry ice. After entering the the moisture & CO2, they will obstruct the heat exchanger tubes and other equipment leading to the stoppage of the Plant.
