Speciality : From 1961, limestone in large quantity is utilized in manufacturing of nitro lime a fertilizer. Its largest consumer is sugar and cement industry. It is suitable for alkali manufacture. It protects fibers by lining, it often become colloidal and separates as gelatinous precipitate and this feature of it is utilized in sugar industry.
Uses :

• The consumption of limestone is by cement industry, iron and steel and chemical plants.
• It forms the basic raw material in the manufacturing of Portland cement. It also used in production of fertilizer.
• It is utilized in classification of sugar, cooking of paper, bamboos, pulps and rags, bleaching of textile sand leather, besides being used in whitewash.
• It helps in production of bleaching powder, slaked lime, whitening and also used as filler in rubber goods, as extender in paint industry and also in manufacturing of lipstick.
