Mill Sanitation Chemical (SKY-225)

Mill Sanitation Chemical (SKY-225) Biocide is meant for Cane Sugar Mill Micro-Organism Control. This Mill Sanitation Chemical (SKY-225) is highly effective quaternary ammonium based broad spectrum micro biocide, effective in controlling the growth of algae, bacteria and fungi found in cane sugar mill systems. The unique composition of Mill Sanitation Chemical (SKY-225) is effective against both gram positive and gram negative bacteria as well as active against fungi. Low dosage levels of Mill Sanitation Chemical (SKY-225) are required to maintain control. Also, this Mill Sanitation Chemical (SKY-225) effectively controls bacteria such as Leuconostoc mesentrodies Seccharomyces and Bacillus substils found in cane sugar mill systems.
Application :

• SKY - 225 is highly effective against troublesome bacteria like Leuconostoc mesentteroides commonly found in sugar mill systems
• Inversion losses are reduced by the use of SKY - 225 which reflects in increased recovery of commercial sugar
• It is normally added to the cane juice at a point or points where the micro biocide will circulate to all parts of the grinding equipment, troughs, screen and pipes with which the juice comes in contact

Mode of Action : SKY - 225 is cationic surface active biocide, which acts as a broad spectrum agent by disrupting the cell envelop of most micro organisms. In addition, it disrupts the cell wall and activity of variety of enzyme systems. Also, this Mill Sanitation Chemical (SKY-225) reacts with anionic group of cellular membrane systems, thus interfering with permeability and transport mechanisms.

 Dosage : It should be diluted prior to use at a ratio 1:9 by weight in water. It should be fed continuously at the rate of 4 to 7 ppm per ton of cane crushed per day during the crushing of sugarcane. Actual dosage depends on the mill condition, climate, temperature and variety of cane. It should be fed directly into the cane juice so that the treated juice circulates to all parts of mill tandem. Frequently the dosage will be split between the crusher juice and the juice from the last mill.
