Contact SupplierManufactures of applications such as water heaters, washing machines and dishwashers often use “potting” techniques to seal the PCB in a gelatinous waterproofing material, which prevents short-circuiting and secures terminal retention during assembly. Various applications could benefit from an intermateable wire-to-board and wire-to-wire system. Other common interconnect requirements, especially for high-vibration and complex assembly applications, include secure mating and terminal retention.
The MicroTPA™ wire-to-board version includes two different height headers to meet silicone sealing or “potting” methods sometimes used on PCBs in White Goods applications to protect components and circuitry from damage or water intrusion as well as shock and vibration. A PCB peg feature helps provide correct board insertion. A wire-to-wire option is also available for design flexibility. Both systems feature an inner positive lock that provides secure mating with good click feeling along with anti-tangling latch protection. An optional Terminal Position Assurance (TPA) retainer is available and attached after mating to confirm complete terminal insertion.
