Laminae / layers split from block and thin Mica; the thickness of ten sheets of which taken together does not exceed 0.30 mm (0.012 Inch), is called Mica splitting. Mica Splitting chiefly is used in the manufacture of Built-Up Mica or Micanite products as raw material for ultimate use as an Insulating Material.

At OTC different qualities of splitting are manufactured from Grade No.6 to Grade No.2. Care is taken to ensure uniformity of size and thickness and eliminate V-cuts and cracks.
