Product description : ANSI/ASME B16.9 90° Long Radius Elbow is installed between two lengths of tubing (or pipe) to allow a change of direction at 90° angle. A 90º long radius elbow is mainly attached to plastic, copper, cast iron, steel, lead, and can also be attached to rubber with stainless-steel clamps . Long radius elbow is primarily used to connect hoses to valves, water pumps and deck drains. The radius of curvature of ANSI/ASME B16.9 90° long-radius (LR) elbow is 1.5 times the pipe diameter and are used in low-pressure gravity-fed systems and other applications where low turbulence and minimum deposition of entrained solids are of primary concern. Long radius elbows give less frictional resistance to the fluid & create lesser pressure drop than short radius elbows.
