Melt Flow Index Tester

The melt flow index tester (Deluxe Model) is a significant attribute of any plastic material that can help in determining various chemical and physical properties of the materials. The melt flow index tester is a highly precise and accurate instrument that offers exact and accurate determination of melt flow index of a plastic resin. The melt flow index of a plastic resin is termed as the weight of the resin flowing through a capillary tube every ten minutes under an unambiguous load or shear stress. The test procedure includes passing the molten plastic granules from a capillary tube of specific dimensions. The melt flow index tester is used for determination of the melt flow rate of various materials such as plastic granules. It is a widely used product in plastics and polymer industry. The instrument is designed and manufactured as per standards set by ISO and ASTM and is mainly focused on meeting the principal conditions necessary for the test procedure.

The instrument has a PID temperature controller, and its working is based on a microprocessor. The temperature can vary from ambient to 4000C. The resolution of the instrument is also 0.10C and has an accuracy of ±0.10C. The apparatus comes with a digital timer that is pre-settable and can be extended to 59 minutes and 59 seconds.

There are standards accessories available with the devices that are a piston, orifice, spanner, funnel, spoon, mirror, plumb line, material charger, barrel cleaners and so forth. The machine is manufactured on a base plate of heavy metal for long life, safety and stability. The tester is in strict adherence to standards of ASTM D 1238-1992.
