Mechanical Dial Indicators

Vidyut Mechanical Dial Indicators are designed and manufactured specially for Dam Duty keeping in view the need to improve and overcome the limitations and maintenance problems of existing Dial Indicators.

To overcome various problems and to increase the reliability, VIDYUT dial Indicators have the following unique features:
The Dial Indicators are made from Heavy Gauge sheet Steel Box duly Electro Galvanized, Powder Coated & Oven baked at 200° C to avoid the problem of corrosion against humid atmosphere at dam site.
The door is provided with Rubber Packing and Acrylic front window with the double-flanged rubber packing, to protect against Rainwater and insect.
The coupling between the gate floating shaft or end reduction gear shaft and the Dial Indicator input shaft is through chain or flexible coupling so that misalignment doesn’t affect the performance of Dial Indicators.

The input shaft of the Dial Indicator is of 19 mm with support of 2 nos. sealed ball bearings. The mounting accuracy and centrality is maintained by special double holding Bracket which holds the gear shaft on one side and bearing shaft on other side.

The Dial and hands are made from Aluminum and painted with Epoxy Paint baked at 200°C so that it is not affected by the weather.  The scale markings are screen printed with scratchproof ink or engraved.

The dial can be marked in Radial or Vertical opening for Radial gates.

The movement of the Pointer is generally clockwise. However, to match with the movement of the gate shaft, clockwise and anti-clockwise movement of the input shaft can be selected at site.

The gears of the Dial Indictor are made of brass mounted on the accurately drilled brass plates with brass output shaft.

Screws and Nuts used for the fittings inside and the Dial Indicator are of Stainless Steel.

The Limit Switches provided are of NON-CONTACT Electronic type totally sealed weather proof switches. As there is no physical contact like Cams, etc. and no mechanical force required to operate the limit switches, the operation is very smooth and accurate.  The limit switches being totally sealed, the question of vermines and insects going in and jamming the contacts is not possible.

The Limit Switches are set from the front with the screw driver arrangement so that setting procedure is very easy and Limit Switch can be accurately set as required. The Dial Indicator is provided with Siemens type locks and provision is also there for putting a padlock.
