Marshall Stability Test Apparatus

Marshall Stability Test Apparatus complies with the ASTM:D – 1559 , which signifies its high-standards. Marshall Stability Test Apparatus is used in highway departments, contractors, engineers, testing laboratories and governmental agencies. The test is intended for the measurement of the resistance to plastic flow of cylindrical specimens of bituminous paving mixture loaded on the lateral surface, for use with hot mixture containing asphalt or tar and aggregate up to 25.4 mm maximum size.
 
The equipment consists of the following

• Three specimen moulds-cylindrical 4 inches dia with base plate and collar
• One specimen extractor rod
• One compaction pedestal-complete with specimen mould holder
• One breaking head assembly
• Complete with dial gauge 0.01x25 mm for flow measurement
• One load transfer bar
• One loading unit
• One proving ring capacity 5000 kg fitted with dial gauge 0.002 mm with our own calibration chart.
• Two compaction hammer weight 4.5 kg each with 18 inches drop

It is motorized with a travel of two inches/minimum. In addition, it is fitted with a motor reversing switch and limit switches to restrict the travel in either direction. It is fitted with hand wheel for final adjustment to bring the proving ring in contact with breaking head assembly capable of application of loads up to 5000 kg. Suitable for operation on ½ Hp Single Phase 230 volts 50 Hz AC supply.
