• To split the husk, preferably longitudinally to expose the inner portion of the kernel and endosperm, with minimum breakage of husk
• To bring out by crushing action a complete disintegration of the endosperm to make all of its constituents accessible to enzymatic action
• To keep the quantity of the fines to minimum to prevent the formation of substance this will cause excessive dough in the mash
• The presence of ungrounded grain should be little
• To achieve the above qualities in the Grist MITHARE EXPORTS has developed 6 roll Mill to suit the off graded for size i.e. for prevailing Indian conditions. The Malt Mill has been designed to comply with objectives of grinding with extraordinary heavy conditions, for easy operations and settings, and for quick maintenance

The Malt Mill Consists Of

• Mill Housing with doors and toughened glass windows
• Feed roller with feed adjustment device to control the feed input and the feed should fall on grinding rollers evenly and longitudinally to avoid pile up in small masses resulting whole grains would pass through as well as resulting considerable wear and tear
• Flattening and Dehusking rollers-Malt available in the Indian Market is not having uniform grains, which leads to improper grinding. To avoid this problem the Mill has been provided with grain flattening smooth rollers followed by fluted dehusking rollers. The grain flattening rollers delivers to dehusking rollers large percentage of uniform flattened grains, which helps in dehusking to reduce percentage of fines in Grist
• Roller gap adjusting and indicating device. -The setting of the gap between rollers and indicate the same from outside of the housing is done by this device. A shaft whose both ends are provided with eccentric cam and one worm wheel is keyed at one end. By turning worm wheel cam at both ends operate similarly. On the both cams pull rods are fixed which passes through eye of the arms, which as they operate move up and down make the movable roller move away from or nearer to rigid roller. The eye of the above armrest on springs, which provide elastic cushioning for moving roller in case some foreign solid body enters into rollers, should pass without causing much damage. The worm wheel is provided with locking arrangement to keep gap constant during operations. The scale drum to indicate the gap between rollers is suitably mounted on worm wheel. This arrangement enables to make finer adjustments from outside without stopping the mill
• Sifter –A sifter has been provided in between dehusking roller and endosperm crushing roller. The sifter separates a) Husk b) endosperms and c) fines. The separated husk and fines does not pass the third pair of rollers. Only coarse particles and endosperm passes through the third pair of rollers is crushed to make all of its constituents accessible to enzymatic action
• Third set of rollers, which are smooth, is provided to reduce the endosperm into small particles to make all of its constituents accessible to enzymatic action
• Sampling tubes –Three sampling tubes has been provided and placed in a way to give overall impression of crushing
  • R.H. sampling tube collects only fines indicating its color and general impression of quantum
  • Central sampling tube collects the grist gives overall impression of quality of the grist contains 1] Husk 2] coarse particles and 3] fines to be sent to Lab for Distribution Analysis
  • L.H. Sampling tube collects only portion of grist, which passes through the third set of rollers, which indicates, crushing of endosperm and coarse
