Maduramicin is an antiprotozoal agent used in veterinary medicine to prevent coccidiosis. It is a natural chemical compound first isolated from the actinomycete Actinomadura rubra. Maduramicin, a polyether ionophore antibiotic derived from the bacterium Actinomadura yumaensis, is currently used as a feed additive against coccidiosis in poultry worldwide.
