Long rice

This type of rice tends to fall apart when cooked i.e. the rice grains do not stick to each other after cooking them. Dishes such as pilafs need separate and dryer rice grain content in them and this is where the long rice grains find their applications. These rice grains have a more firm and dry texture and give a comparatively harder feel in the mouth.
