It is sold under various commercial names including zanidip. This lowers the blood pressure and allows the heart to work more efficiently.

lercanidipine hydrochloride is a pale-yellow powder. It is soluble in dmso (100 mm), ethanol (10 mm), water (partly), chloroform, and methanol with melting range of 195°c to 198°c.
