Lansoprazole (LP) belong to a class of antisecretory compounds, the substituted benzimidazoles that suppress gastric acid secretion by specific inhibition of the H+K+ ATPase enzyme system at the secretory surface of the gastric parietal cell. They are used for the treatment of acid-peptic diseases such as duodenal, gastric and oesophageal ulceration. Domperidone (DP) is a potent dopamine antagonist used for the treatment of nausea and vomiting.
Lansoprazole is a second-generation proton pump inhibitor and is one of the blockbuster molecule that is used in the treatment of ulcer. The API used for manufacture is synthesized using a non-infringing route.
