Laminate flooring is a multi-layer wood fibre based flooring product. Wood fibres made from plantation timber are fused together under high pressure and the top surface is finished with a lamination process. Laminate flooring simulates wood (or stone, in some cases) with a photographic application layer under a clear protective layer. The inner core layer is usually composed of melamine resin and wood based fiber board materials. It has the advantages that it is durable, attractive, and lower in cost.
