Kokum Butter is an oil derived from the Seeds of a Fruit-bearing tree called the Kokum tree (Garcinia

indica). Kokum trees are primarily cultivated in tropical regions of India. Konkan Region (west cost of

Maharashtra) is the best source for Kokum. The fruit and seeds of the kokum tree are used in a variety

of culinary, cosmetic, and medicinal applications.

Kokum Butter is extracted from carefully sourced Kokum Seeds, usually has Off white to Pale yellow

tint and comprises of saturated fat. The chemical structure of the fat allows Kokum Butter to remain

solid at room temperature & hence it is typically referred as a butter instead of an oil.

Kokum Butter is composed of beneficial compounds that help to regenerate skin cells. It’s commonly

used in skin healing lotions, creams and body butters, as well as soaps, cosmetics and toiletries. Kokum

Butter is often used as a substitute for Cocoa Butter due to its uniform triglyceride composition.
