Kasturi Dhoop

The word Kasturi (meaning musk - the perfume obtained from the stomach pods of the Kasturi mrig / musk deer) has a long association with Sanskrit literature and Ayurveda. Musk is one of the oldest materials used in perfumery. Until the late 19th century, natural musk was used extensively in perfumery until economic and ethical motives led to the adoption of synthetic musk, which is now used almost exclusively.
