Mode of Action and Pharmacology

Itraconazole drug acts by blocking the fungal cytochrome P-450 dependent enzyme lanosterol 14-a-demethylase. This enzyme is inhibited it the conversion of lanosterol to ergosterol, which disrupts fungal cell membrane synthesis.

Take Itraconazole capsules this medication by mouth with a full meal as directed by your doctor, usually once or twice daily.

Swallow the capsules whole. Take Itraconazole capsules 1 hour after or 2 hours before antacids.
