Isabgol (Isabcare) Powder

Isabgol (Psyllium seed husk) is obtained from the seeds of the plant Plantago ovata. This soluble dietary fiber is extremely hygroscopic, which expands and becomes mucilaginous on coming in contact with fluids. Ayurveda recommends its use for colon cleansing/ bowel regulation.

This fiber remains undigested and efficiently relieves constipation and allied disorders. Isabgol also maintains the regular motility of Gastrointestinal Tract, hence, overall well-being.

• Useful in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) owing to its immunomodulatory, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and wound-healing activities. Isabgol significantly reduces Nitric Oxide (NO) and Leukotriene B4 (LB4) as well, which play an important role in pathogenesis of IBD.1
• Significantly lowers Low Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol (LDL-C), Triglycerides (TG), TG related to certain gene variants, Total Cholesterol (TC), Apolipoprotein B (Apo B) – 100, oxidized LDL, insulin resistance and systolic BP in mild-moderate hypercholesterolemic individuals, thus, reducing CVD (Cardiovascular Disease) Risk factors, such as Metabolic Syndrome.2
• Reduces the risk of mortality due to Colorectal Cancer.3

• Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
• Hyperacidity, Gastritis and associated Dyspepsia
• Internal Bleeding Haemorrhoids

1-2 teaspoonful with luke warm water/ milk at bedtime or as directed by the Physician. Add and stir briskly, drink immediately thereafter. An additional glass of water is helpful.
