The two methods used in induction heating are single shot and scanning. Single shot heating (or static) heating means that entire area of interest is heated in a timed cycle. Scanning involves moving the part through the flux field in a controlled direction and speed that allows heating of large surface areas that would not be possible with single shot heating.
