Components & Working Of Impact Testing Machine

Pendulum of the machine is mounted on antifriction bearings
Contains two starting positions, the upper one for Charpy and the lower one for Izod testing
The Pendulum on release swings down to break the specimen and the power absorbed in doing so is calculated as the variation between the height of drop before rupture & height of raise after rupture of the test specimen
The output is read from the maximum pointer on the dial scale
