Contact SupplierCDG provides IK impact protection testing services in India. Initially related to the IP sealing test, the IK rating became a specific rating to measure the impact resistance of the product in 1995.
IK Impact Protection Tests
The HR ratio is an international numerical classification showing the degrees of protection provided by electrical equipment enclosures against external mechanical impacts. Impact protection is designed to protect and alert corners, edges, open beams and delicate pipes. The HR impact protection rate is used in many different industrial and commercial applications, both to prevent damage to the product and to prevent injuries.
Impact Protection (IK) Rating
Degrees of protection provided by enclosures for electrical equipment against external mechanical impacts in accordance with IEC 62262.
IK00 Not protected
IK01 Protected against 0.14 joules impact.
Equivalent to impact of 0.25 kg mass dropped from 56 mm above impacted surface.
IK02 Protected against 0.2 joules impact.
Equivalent to impact of 0.25 kg mass dropped from 80 mm above impacted surface.
IK03 Protected against 0.35 joules impact.
Equivalent to impact of 0.25 kg mass dropped from 140 mm above impacted surface.
IK04 Protected against 0.5 joules impact.
Equivalent to impact of 0.25 kg mass dropped from 200 mm above impacted surface.
IK05 Protected against 0.7 joules impact.
Equivalent to impact of 0.25 kg mass dropped from 280 mm above impacted surface.
IK06 Protected against 1 joules impact.
Equivalent to impact of 0.25 kg mass dropped from 400 mm above impacted surface.
IK07 Protected against 2 joules impact.
Equivalent to impact of 0.5 kg mass dropped from 400 mm above impacted surface.
IK08 Protected against 5 joules impact.
Equivalent to impact of 1.7 kg mass dropped from 300 mm above impacted surface.
IK09 Protected against 10 joules impact.
Equivalent to impact of 5 kg mass dropped from 200 mm above impacted surface
IK10 Protected against 20 joules impact.
Equivalent to impact of 5 kg mass dropped from 400 mm above impacted surface.
Regarding the impact protection (IK) rating system, standards IEC 62262: 2002 and IEC 60068-2-75: 1997 have been published for electrical equipment. In these standards, the degrees of protection provided by the enclosures against external mechanical impacts are shown as follows:
IK00 = Not protected
IK01 = protected against 0.14 joule impact (56 kg mass impact falling from 0.25 mm)
IK02 = protected against 0,2 joule impact (80 kg mass impact falling from 0.25 mm)
IK03 = protected against 0,35 joule impact (140 kg mass impact falling from 0.25 mm)
IK04 = protected against 0,5 joule impact (200 kg mass impact falling from 0.25 mm)
IK05 = protected against 0,7 joule impact (280 kg mass impact falling from 0.25 mm)
IK06 = protected against 1 joule impact (400 kg mass impact falling from 0.25 mm)
IK07 = protected against 2 joule impact (400 kg mass impact falling from 0.50 mm)
IK08 = protected against 5 joule impact. It is equivalent to the 300 kg mass effect falling from 1.70 mm.
IK09 = protected against 10 joule impact (200 kg mass impact falling from 5 mm)
IK10 = Protected against 20 joule impact (400 kg mass impact falling from 5 mm)
