hydrochlorothiazide is a white to off-white crystalline powder. It is soluble in dilute ammonia, or sodium hydroxide; also soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone freely soluble in sodium hydroxide solution, in n-butylamine and in dimethylformamide; sparingly soluble in methanol; insoluble in dilute mineral acids with melting range of 273°c to 275°c.
