Hydro Electricity Turbine

Electricity is the basic necessity and there are number of places where electricity is not easily accessible due to difficult terrain. Mr. G.K Ratnakar of Jayapura village of Karnataka designed a modified hydro turbine to generate electricity which can be simply installed in a stream of flowing water.

Modified hydro electric turbine is an innovation which can be used for generating electricity through flowing water. It is primarily designed for remote areas where it is not possible to supply electricity through conventional electricity transmission lines. The number of such locations is quite enormous in hilly & forest areas of the Western ghats, North-east, etc. The modified hydro turbine is an environmental friendly & cost effective measure for generating electricity where a continuous flow of water is available. The major components of this turbine include alternator, balance wheel & belt pulley, V-belt & V-pulley. The novelty of this innovation is that it can be also installed in the stream of running water & the design of the turbine can be customized according to the requirements.

Technical specifications :

• Water crush by force through nozzle, peloton wheels tarts rotating on customized RPM level. The peloton wheel so connected to alternator generates the power. Such power is distributed for transmission through wires for various appliances.
• The minimum height of the water reservoir should be 30 ft.  
• The average lent of the pipe from the reseriour should be 300 ft.
