The HSFG (high strength friction grip) Structural Bolts works differently. Material is similar to grade 8.8 bolts with different shaped heads and nuts. The nut is tightened in a carefully controlled manner to put a large pretension into the bolt shank. ISO IS3757 Advantages: Excellent performance of preloaded HSFG bolts under fatigue loading.
