The HP C7974A is an LTO-4 tape cartridge. The C7974A has an 800 GB native capacity and a 1.6 TB capacity compressed. The transfer rates to and from the C7974A tape are 120 MBs native and 240 MBs compressed, easily double the transfer speed of conventional hard disk drives. The cartridge shell of the C7974A LTO-4 tape is green in color and the tape is 820 meters of length. LTO-4 tapes such as the C7974A are only compatible with LTO-4 tape drives and auto-libraries only. The C7974A also features an AES 256-bit encryption which ensures that whether your data is being shipped or is in storage, it is safe and secure. The HP C7974A also features an LTO-CM module like all other LTO tape media.
