    MANUAL WORKWORK USING CNC MACHINES
    Manual layout required to cut the beam also drill the holesAuto reimbursement done and cutting and drilling operation is automatic. 70-80¾ cycle time can be saved.
    Cutting quality is not satisfactory and one more – operation of grinding is required.A smooth finish is obtained since grinding is avoided and accuracy is achieved to 0.1mm.
    Since the operation involves manual materials handling for cutting and drilling, the turning of the beams occurs at least 3 to 5 times, leading to chances of handling damages and accidents.The materials handling is involved cutting and drilling if holes take place for all the sides of the sections with the beam in one position.
    Time taken to cut and drill 100 holes of dia 22 In
    one beam of size 500 X 300 X 2S X lSX 9000mm long is approximately 400-200 min with a good
    Filter and cutter.
    Time taken by CNC machine for the ·same will be approximately 30 minutes.
    Manpower required for material handling is more hence the manpower per tons spent will be more.Only two machine operators (For cutting and for drill machine) required to perform the entire
    Operation and then less manpower per ton.
    Chances of human errors are more as the drawings have to be referred to on the shop floor.The CNC files are downloaded directly from the
    Drawings software, chances of .e. errors are almost negligible.
    When the percentage of components is high in structures, the time taken to prepare is long resulting
    In delay in fabrication.
    When the percentage of components Is high, mass production is possible which helps in cutting-down
    The cycle time for fabrication.
