Contact SupplierGypsum Powder is a mineral that occurs in nature. The term âphosphogypsumâ is used to specify the particular gypsum arising from the acidulation of phosphate rock, because it contains trace amounts of many of the mineral impurities that accompany phosphate rock.
The use of waste phosphogypsum for other purposes has been widely explored. Plasterboard, plaster and cement are the main possibilities, but it is also possible to extract sulphuric acid from phosphogypsum. Gypsum and phosphogypsum are also used in large quantities as a soil amendment for sodic soils. Gypsum is an excellent and economic road-making material, and large quantities of phosphogypsum could be used for this purpose.
