They are primarily from Madhya Pradesh but are also found in Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhatisgarh, and Odisha. Gond painting is a famous folk art of the Gond tribal community of central India. The work of Gond artists is rooted in their folk tales and culture, and thus storytelling is a strong element of every painting.
