Glow Wire Tester There are circumstances when the fire is started from the electric apparatus and /or from electric installation. This test simulates the conditions which lead to the fire hazard from a particular electro technical product.  From the safety point of view, the parts of a electro technical product, which may be exposed to the excessive thermal stress, due to electric effects and the deterioration  of the same must not be unduly affected by heat and fire generated within the equipment.

• Under certain conditions like overloading, wrong connections, short circuit etc., certain elements may reach a temperature, such that they can ignite the parts in their vicinity. Insulating material or any solid combustible material from the apparatus which may propagate flames inside the equipment is ignited by means of the glowing wire and the effect is studied.is electrically heated and then pressed against the sample at an appropriate temperature, maximum 960 degrees celcius, with specified force. Then, the point at which the material under test catches fire is noted, which is absolutely essential for the designing of the system which uses this product.
