Contact SupplierGear oil is made specifically for lubrication of transmission components.High viscosity of gear oil ensures transfer of lubricant throughout the gear train. This is necessary since the devices needing this heavy oil do not have pumps for transferring the oil with only a portion of the lowermost gears bathed in an oil sump. Most lubricants for manual gearboxes and differentials are hypoid gear oils. These contain extreme pressure additives.
Gear oils are classified by the American Petroleum Institute using GL ratings. For example, most modern gearboxes require a GL4 oil, and separate differentials (where fitted) require a GL5 oil.
Industrial Gear Oils
Gear Oil are designed to protect gears, bearings and seals in all types of enclosed-gear drives with circulation or splash lubrication systems. These industrial gear oils exceed the industry requirement for bearing wear protection. These gearbox oils are formulated for outstanding extreme-pressure characteristics and load-carrying properties in a broad range of industrial and marine equipment.
Automotive Gear Oil
GL-4 ( EP-90, 140, 80W )
These are premium quality gear oils EP Type GL-4 which are blended from highly refined group I & group II base oils having high viscosity index & good oxidation stability. These oils are also fortified with combinations of additives which provides outstanding load carrying properties, good anti foaming / anti wear characteristics for long term performance.
EP 80W due to its low pour point (-27°C) can be used in vehicles operating at sub zero temperatures.
Product Features
Applications
Hypoid, spiral bevel, spur and double reduction constant or synchromesh gear boxes, transfer boxes etc. of vehicles and construction plants; steering boxes and oil lubricated universal gear joint, requiring EP type GL-4 gear oils.
GL-5 (85W-140 ,80W-90)
SAE 80W-90 Gear Lubricant is a multi-purpose gear oil formulated to meet the latest requirements of manufacturers requiring API GL-5 lubricants. SAE 80W-90 Gear Lubricant is a blend of high quality base stocks with extreme pressure additives that provide protection under severe operating conditions, including automotive applications.
SAE 85W-140 Gear Lubricant is a blend of high quality, high VI base stocks with sulfur-phosphorous extreme pressure additives that provide exceptional protection under severe operating conditions. SAE 85W-140 Gear Lubricant is a multi-purpose gear oil that exceed the latest requirements of gear and transmission manufacturers requiring API GL-5 or API MT-1 level lubricants
Application
SAE 80W-90 and 85W-140 Gear Lubricants are recommended for use in manual transmissions, limited slip, differentials, final drives and other gear cases in passenger cars, light duty trucks as well as axles of heavy duty trucks, off-road equipment, tractors and outboard motors. Viscosity recommendations vary according to temperature and engine manufacturer. Always consult your owner’s manual for correct viscosity choice and API Service category recommendations.
