The gases used in the GC have to be pure and free from Oxygen, Hydrocarbons and moisture as they are harmful to GC. The hydrocarbons present may give baseline noise and irreproducible results. Moisture and oxygen can strip phase, cause excessive bleed thus damaging the GC column or shorten its span. To remove this, different traps are used. .A complete unit consisting of various purifiers and gas control & distribution panel can be seen here. The panels may house a moisture trap or an oxygen trap or a hydrocarbon trap or any or all of them for the gas lines.Â Â Â

Additionally, gas control and distribution panel are also provided so that one can control the gas flow in the laboratory itself rather than go the cylinder room. The distribution panel includes ON/OFF valves, pressure gauges, pressure regulator for any or all channel depending upon selection. Different types of combinations are possible.Â Â Â
