This technique is older than FUE technique and its full form is Follicular Unit Transplantation. In this technique basically hair from the back and side of the head are extracted surgically in a strip form along with the roots of the hair. Before that anesthesia is given to numb the area for extraction. The hair on the back and sides of the head remain for long time intact on the scalp because hair in this area are not prone to baldness in most of the people. However, exceptions are there.
