Contact SupplierThe large diversity of end uses makes ABS one of the most successful thermoplastics available. ABS is a copolymer of Acrylonitrile, Butadiene and Styrene, blended to give unrivaled properties, offering benefits over traditional material like metal and other plastic pipes.
Acrylonitrile imparts chemical resistance ensuring the pipework does not corrode or scale. The Butadiene content endows the material with impact strength and toughness particularly at low temperatures, while the Styrene content contributes to lustre, hence extremely smooth bores, and also ensures the strength of the material.
ABS PIPING SYSTEMS:
The system is less expensive and very easy to install than metal piping; Feature superior flow to smooth interior finish; Do not rot, rust, corrode or collect waste; withstand earth loads and shipping (with proper handling); Resist mechanical damage, even at low temperatures; Performance at an operational temperature range of –40°C to +60°C; Are light weight (one person can load and unload): take less time to rough in than metal.
IMPACT STRENGTH
Fusion ABS pipe is a relatively ductile thermoplastic which exhibits very high impact strength compared to other thermoplastics particularly at moderate low temperature.
TEMEPATURE RANGE
A great advantage of Fusion ABS pipe over other plastic systems is its ability to perform over a wide temperature range from –40°C to +80°C. This makes Fusion ABS pipe very versatile and capable of handling water carrying capacity at very low temperature places to very high temperature places.
ENVIRONMENTAL ADVANTAGE
The use of ABS contributes positively to the environment as it takes approximately one sixth of the energy to manufacture compared to metal products. This has direct savings in green house gas emissions. Additionally ABS is lead and chlorine free and can be readily recycled.
CHEMICAL RESISTANT
Fusion ABS PIPE is unaffected by both internal and external chemical attack by a wide range of acids, alkalis, ground water salts and other environmental factors.
Fast, simple, high integrity jointing
Cement Solvent welding is a simple process which produces a permanent joint of strength equal to, or exceeding, the pipe itself. No special tools, equipment, or hot work permit is required, No site down-time due to electricity shut down.
