Floatation is a physical-chemicals process of separating materials. It is based on the phenomenon that separation is achieved by influencing the wet ability with water of the particles to be separated, whether the surface of these particles is hydrophilic or hydrophobic. The water repellency of the surface of the particles to be separated is achieved by the addition of special hetero polar chemicals, called collectors, which deposit on the surface of the particles. In the case of ore and mineral floatation, the polar metal- affined component of the collector deposits on the surface of the particle of the collector deposits on the surface of the particle so that the a polar component, mostly a CnN2n-1 chain, a with a dense packing of the adsorptive substance steeply erects on the surface of the particle, thus rendering it difficult to wet.
