Micrometer provided with this machine has two types of readings. One reading taken from the main scale and drum, and second from vernier scale. Main scale is on fixed barrel of the micrometer (non-rotary part of the micrometer). Main scale is having graduations of one-millimetre sub divided by half-millimetre lines. It is also provided with a vernier scale. Each vernier line reads 0.001mm
