Flexing Tester

Ross Flexing tester is a consistent tool useful for checking the resistance of vulcanized rubber or synthetic elastomers to cut growth. The rubber form cracks when subjected to repeated flexing or bending under specified conditions or duration.
The Presto Ross Rubber Flexing Machine is designed to determine ‘resistance of vulcanized or synthetic elastomers’ to repeated flexing. An important parameter which determines the quality of a shoe sole is its ability to withstand repeated bending, experienced during walking, without developing a crack within the estimated life span of the shoe. The Presto Ross Rubber Flexing Machine conforms to ASTM D1052 – 09(2014) and ISO 4643 : 2013.
It has been observed that when rubber products are subjected to repeated bending, they tend to develop strains and cracks at right angle and gradually become too weak to be used. It is thus important to estimate the endurance of rubber products against repeated bending. The Presto Ross Rubber Flexing Machine is designed to test this application and is suitable especially for rubber soles and footwear.
