The Fine Bubble Diffusers is simple and sturdy. It contains no susceptible moving parts such as spring clamps or check valves. An upward facing convex dish is covered by an elastic EPDM membrane that encompasses the rim of the dish and perforated precision "I"slits. When air pressure is applied, the Fine Bubble Diffusers consistently produce l-3mm fine bubbles through thousands of uniform circular perforations in the flex membrane, resulting in high oxygen transfer efficiency. When the air is shut off, the flex membrane retracts, seals the perforate and completes a second seal by means of the water pressing the diaphragm directly over the air support port. The convex shape of the dish permits the diaphragm to lay down flat, even when its elasticity is reduced by time. The materials of construction both the dish and membrane are non-corrosive and UV resistant. The dish is made of fiberglass reinforced poly-amide for working without any strength acid dosing requirements. The membrane, which covers the dish, is made of highly EPDM elastic compound (Ecoflex-361 R) or Viton (Ecoflex-3l6V) for industrial and high strength chemical plants aeration applications. Fine Bubble Diffusers require no regular maintenance. When the air expends the flex membrane, any settled solids, slime or carbonate buildup are dispersed. The membrane's "l"slits close whenever the airflow is shut off it purge them when the air blower restarts. The high resistance to fouling is critical in maintaining high oxygen transfer efficiency over the life of the diffuser and ideal for intermittent and automatic D.O. control applications.
