The name feldspar derives from the german feldspat. The words feld, "field", and spath mean "a rock that does not contain ore." "feldspathic" refers to materials that contain feldspar. The alternate spelling, felspar, has largely fallen out of use.
In the manufacturing of ceramic products, feldspar is the second most important ingredient after clay. This greatly facilitates the melting of quartz and clays and, through appropriate mixing, allows modulations of this important step of ceramic making.
Non metallic minerals like potash feldspar, sodium feldspar are widely used in walls and floor tiles (glazed tiles, vitrified homogenous tiles, fast firing, third firing ), vitreous porcelain � tableware & other ceramic product, enameled ceramics & potteries, technical & advanced ceramics, vitrified pipes & other products, frits & glaze. Talc is used in ceramics, soaps & detergents, paints, paper, cosmetics and plastics. Silica and quartz are widely used in ceramics and tiles industries.
