Face masks are made of spunlace nonwoven fabric which are free from contaminants, dirt, lint, and from harmful dyes. The face masks consist of two layers, viz., outer and inner layer. The outer layer is a hydrophilic layer which is highly repellent to liquid splashes whilst the inner layer in a hydrophobic layer which absorbs moisture released during exhale. The face masks are provided with a soft elastic loop which can be closely hug around the upper part of the neck (behind) without causing any discomfort. The face masks are intended to protect the staff against potentially contaminated fluid splashes. The level of comfort is crucial for acceptance of facemasks.

In addition to providing good breathability a facemask is in direct contact with one of the most sensitive skin parts of the human body (nasal), and it is of critical importance that the mask does not irritate the skin. The material used for the facemask is gentle and soft and has high uniformity. The fabric in use is capable of absorbing moisture of the exhaled air. By absorbing this moisture, the products become even softer to the skin. In order to determine suitability of the product, the product is evaluated for air permeability, liquid repellency test and splash resistance test.
