Ethyl Acetate

  Ethyl Acetate is a clear, colorless liquid with a characteristic sweet smell which is similar to that of pear drops. It has lesser density than water and its vapors are heavier than air. Because of its relatively low cost, agreeable odor and low toxicity, it is favored as a solvent as well as a diluent. It has got a really wide variety of uses in foods, as a solvent, in wines, in laboratories etc.
