Enamels applied on steel or aluminum give a glassy coating on metal, which is very easy to clean. This makes enameled steel, cast iron or aluminum ideal for cooking and eating utensils, and pressure cookers. The attractiveness and durability of the enamel surface also makes it suitable for outer walls of buildings (curtain walls) as they never require repainting or re-plastering. A double curtain wall, with a styro-foam insulation between the layers can reduce building air-conditioning costs by as much as 40%

Ground frits: to bond the enamel (a glassy ceramic coating) to iron or to steel, a special ground coat enamel is required. We make the best ground coat enamels in india. Our standard ground coat enamel frit, mfhc, a two member ground, gives a glossy black finish, almost free from pin-holes. Our 3 m3mbr ground frit (g-280, g301 & g-280) mixed in a 40:20:40 ratio is ideal for traditional enamel ware and sign boards. For coating thicker guage metal (1.5mm and thicker) a 50:15:35 ratio is recommended. This combination gives a blue-black finish when under fired, black when correctly fired, and green-black when overfired.
An underfired ground sometimes leads to fish scaling, but giving longer firing time to allow the gas to come out,usually removes chances of fish scaling.
