C55 is Medium Carbon cold rolled steel strip l, these types of strips provide very high yield strength. Enables objects made of this to return to their original shape despite significant bending or twisting after hardening and tempering. Its in soft annealed condition but can also be supplied in temper rolled hardness in range between 200-300Hv ( band range is +/-40 Hv ) C55 is used where exhaustive values and elasticity limits are non critical and not a consideration, applications in which high strength, hardness and wear resistance are important. It has good form , decent blanking and bending qualities.
