    Here's a brief overview:

    • Working Principle: When a conductive material passes through a changing magnetic field, it induces currents (called eddy currents) within the material. These eddy currents create their own magnetic fields, which oppose the original magnetic field. This interaction causes the non-ferrous metals to be repelled or deflected from their original path.
    • Components: An ECS typically consists of a conveyor belt, a high-speed rotating magnetic drum, and sometimes additional equipment like vibratory feeders. The magnetic drum creates the magnetic field needed to induce eddy currents in the non-ferrous metals.
    • Process: Materials are fed onto the conveyor belt, which transports them towards the rotating magnetic drum. Ferrous metals are removed using magnetic separators before reaching the ECS. Non-ferrous metals are then repelled from the belt due to the eddy currents, separating them from non-metallic materials, which fall off the end of the conveyor.
    • Applications: Eddy Current Separators are widely used in recycling plants for sorting and recovering valuable non-ferrous metals from waste streams, such as aluminum from plastic or glass, copper from shredded cars, or mixed municipal solid waste.
    • Advantages: They are efficient, can process large volumes of material, and significantly reduce the need for manual sorting, leading to higher purity levels of recovered materials.
