we offer Dehydrated Castor Oil Fatty Acid. DEHYDRATED CASTOR OIL FATTY ACID APPLICATION
DCO fatty acid based alkyd resins and polyamides make up superior constituent in numerous paint and printing inks formulations. Styrenated epoxy esters of these fatty acids are used in prime quality automotive paints.
DCO fatty acid are also used in the manufacture of high solids alkyds, acrylic and epoxy ester resins which are useful for interior and exterior can coatings, appliance finishes, automotive topcoats, primers, coil coatings, tube coatings, marine finishes, overprint, varnishes, high-speed printing inks.
DCO FATTY ACID because of their conjugated dienes structure, are used to make more specialty chemicals via DIELS-ALDER reactions.
ADVANTAGES :
One Stage Direct Esterification at 30-40ºC lower temperature & without any metallic Catalyst. This also increases the kettle thoroughput..
Minimum 88% linoleic acid & total absence of linolenic acid, implies less side reaction, less yellowing.
Absence of resin acids & minimum unsaponifiables.
Alkyd resins with sharper M.W. distribution, high Tg, better film formability, uniform properties, lower colour, improved clarity.
The advantages of DCO FATTY ACID over other fatty acids e.g. soyabean, tung, safflower, linseed and tall oil are:
High percentage of Conjugation and total linoleic acid, giving rapid drying.
No linolenic, implies very low yellowing in exterior environments.
No resin acids and minimum unsaponifiables implies clear products obtained.
Better water and alkali resistant properties in paints and inks.
Stronger co polymerization property with vinyl resins implies stabilities of paint vehicles are increased.
Lower temperature for esterification, implies lighter coloured products.
