Normally for a deep hole drilling it takes long time to drill the component, our basic idea is to drill more than 2 or 4 components at the same time of drilling / machining. The whole head moves on LM guide ways for the movement accuracy. The drilling head drive is given through servo motors like CNC machines or VMC machines. The spindles of this machine are direct driven with timer pulley by AC induction motor. So the power loss in this machine is also saved.
As the deep hole drilling machine has only one axis the machine movement is controlled through PLC (Programmable Logical Control) and controlled through the MMI (Man & Machine Interface). We can control the movement of the drilling head by input the data's in the MMI with a semi skilled operator.
In the deep hole drilling machine, the feed, No. of peck cycles and the RPM ranges also varied. The multiple spindle in this machine will also improve the production.
